Anti-Harassment Policy
Anti-Harassment Policy
Effective Date: 1 March 2026
Last Updated: 1 March 2026
Platform: AIO Cine Productions (aiocine.com)
Report Harassment: contact@aiocine.com (subject: "Harassment Report")
Our Commitment
AIO Cine Productions operates in an industry where harassment — particularly the harassment of women, junior crew, and those seeking employment — has caused serious, documented harm. We built this platform because we believe the film industry deserves better. A safer, more transparent hiring process benefits everyone: productions get the best talent, talent gets fairly treated opportunities, and the industry grows stronger.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind on this platform.
This means: if you use AIO Cine Productions to harass, intimidate, exploit, or abuse another user, your account will be suspended or permanently banned. In serious cases, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement and legal proceedings.
This is not a policy we display for appearances. It is a commitment we enforce.
1. Legal Framework
This policy is guided by and consistent with:
- The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 ("POSH Act") — which establishes the legal standard for sexual harassment in professional contexts in India;
- The Indian Penal Code (and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 where applicable) — provisions relating to criminal intimidation, stalking, voyeurism, and obscenity;
- The Information Technology Act, 2000 — provisions relating to cyberstalking, electronic harassment, and transmission of obscene material;
- The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 — where minors are involved.
While the POSH Act specifically governs sexual harassment at a physical workplace, we adopt its definitions and principles as the baseline for our platform because they represent a carefully considered legal standard for professional conduct in India. We extend these protections to all genders.
2. What Constitutes Harassment
2.1 Sexual Harassment
Drawing from the POSH Act, 2013, sexual harassment includes any unwelcome act or behaviour (whether directly or by implication) that involves:
- Physical contact or advances of a sexual nature;
- A demand or request for sexual favours — including in exchange for roles, introductions, recommendations, or opportunities;
- Sexually coloured remarks, comments, or messages;
- Showing or sharing pornography or sexually explicit material without consent;
- Any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.
2.2 Harassment in the Film Industry Context
The following conduct is harassment when it occurs on or through this platform:
Casting Couch / Quid Pro Quo:
Any production house representative, producer, director, or user who conditions a role, audition, introduction, recommendation, or professional opportunity on sexual favours, romantic involvement, or personal compliance of any kind. This is both a POSH Act violation and fraud under Indian law.
Fake Job Postings:
Posting a job opportunity that does not exist, or using a job posting as a pretext to solicit personal meetings, photographs, or contact with Talent under false pretences.
Unsolicited Intimate Contact:
Sending unsolicited sexually explicit messages, images, or links to any user. A single instance is sufficient — there is no "first warning" for this conduct.
Intimidation and Threats:
Using the platform to threaten, coerce, blackmail, or intimidate another user — including threats related to professional reputation, career prospects, or exposure of personal information.
Cyberstalking:
Repeatedly contacting a user who has indicated they do not wish to be contacted; monitoring or tracking a user's activity in a manner that causes distress; using the platform as part of a broader pattern of stalking conduct.
Discriminatory Harassment:
Targeting a user with abusive, demeaning, or hostile conduct based on their gender, caste, religion, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
Retaliation:
Taking or attempting to take any adverse action against a user because they reported harassment, participated in an investigation, or exercised their rights under this policy. Retaliation is treated as a separate and serious violation.
Doxxing:
Publishing or threatening to publish another user's private personal information (home address, phone number, private photographs, personal details) without their consent.
2.3 What This Policy Does Not Cover
Professional feedback, negative reviews (where such features exist), legitimate business disputes, and good-faith complaints about a user's conduct are not harassment. This policy distinguishes between genuine misconduct and professional disagreements. We investigate complaints in context.
3. Your Responsibility as a User
Every user of AIO Cine Productions — whether Production House, Talent, or other — is responsible for:
- Treating every other user with professional respect;
- Using platform communication tools only for legitimate professional purposes;
- Reporting harassment you experience or witness, so we can address it;
- Not retaliating against someone who has reported harassment;
- Cooperating honestly with any investigation we conduct.
Senior industry figures — producers, directors, studio heads — are held to the same standard as every other user. Seniority, credits, or industry relationships do not insulate anyone from consequences under this policy.
4. How to Report Harassment
4.1 Reporting Channels
If you experience or witness harassment on this platform, you have multiple ways to report it:
Option 1 — Email Report
Send an email to contact@aiocine.com with the subject line "Harassment Report".
Include: your registered email, a description of what happened, the username or profile of the person involved, dates and times, and any screenshots or message records you have.
Option 2 — In-Platform Report
Use the "Report User" or "Report Message" button available on every user profile and message thread. Select the relevant category and provide a description. This creates a formal record in our system immediately.
Option 3 — Direct Contact for Urgent Situations
If you are in immediate danger or the situation involves criminal conduct, contact the police first (Emergency: 112 | Women's Helpline: 1091 | Cybercrime: 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in). Then report to us as well so we can take platform-level action.
4.2 Confidentiality
All harassment reports are treated as confidential. We will not disclose your identity to the person being reported except to the extent necessary for a fair investigation or as required by law. We take the protection of reporters seriously — retaliation against someone who files a complaint is a standalone violation of this policy.
4.3 Anonymous Reporting
You may submit an anonymous tip about a pattern of conduct by emailing contact@aiocine.com. Anonymous reports may have limited investigative scope (we cannot ask you follow-up questions), but we review all reports and may take action where there is sufficient corroborating information.
5. What Happens After You Report
Step 1 — Acknowledgement (Within 24 Hours)
We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 24 hours of receiving it. You will receive a reference number for your complaint.
Step 2 — Initial Review (Within 48 Hours)
Our trust and safety team will review the complaint to assess its nature and severity. In cases involving explicit content, immediate threats, or criminal conduct, interim protective measures (such as restricting the reported user's ability to contact you) may be applied immediately, before the investigation is complete.
Step 3 — Investigation
We will conduct a fair and impartial investigation, which may include:
- Reviewing platform messages, application history, and activity logs;
- Contacting the reported user for their account of events;
- Requesting additional information or evidence from the complainant;
- Reviewing any prior complaints involving either party.
We aim to complete investigations within 15 days of a complaint being filed. Complex cases may take longer, and we will keep you updated on progress.
Step 4 — Decision and Action
Based on the investigation, we will take one or more of the following actions:
- Issue a formal warning to the reported user;
- Remove the offending content;
- Restrict the reported user's ability to contact or view certain users;
- Temporarily suspend the reported user's account;
- Permanently ban the reported user from the platform;
- Report the matter to law enforcement or relevant authorities;
- Revoke Verified status from a Production House.
Both parties will be notified of the outcome, to the extent permitted by confidentiality requirements.
Step 5 — Appeal
Both the complainant and the reported user may appeal the outcome within 14 days of being notified. Appeals must be submitted to contact@aiocine.com with the subject line "Harassment Appeal: [reference number]". Appeals are reviewed by a different team member than the original investigator. The appeal decision is final at the platform level.
6. Consequences
The consequence applied depends on the severity, frequency, and nature of the conduct:
6.1 Warning
For first-time, lower-severity violations — such as a single inappropriate message that does not involve explicit content or threats. The user is informed that the conduct violates this policy and that any repetition will result in suspension or ban.
6.2 Temporary Suspension
For serious violations, repeated warnings, or conduct that causes measurable harm to another user. The account is suspended for a defined period (typically 30 to 90 days). The user may appeal. Return to the platform requires acknowledgement of this policy.
6.3 Permanent Ban
For: sexual misconduct, explicit quid pro quo demands, threats, doxxing, criminal conduct, fake job postings used for predatory purposes, or any conduct where we conclude the user poses a risk to others on the platform. Permanent bans are not reversible on appeal in most cases. The person is barred from creating new accounts.
6.4 Legal Referral
Where conduct constitutes a criminal offence — including sexual assault, criminal intimidation, cyberstalking, obscenity, or POCSO violations — we will report the matter to the relevant law enforcement authority and cooperate fully with any investigation or legal proceedings. We will preserve and provide all relevant data as required by law.
7. Obligations of Production Houses
Production Houses registered on this platform carry particular responsibility. If a representative of a Production House (whether the named account holder or anyone acting on their behalf through their account) engages in harassment:
- The individual representative's access will be revoked;
- The Production House account may be suspended or banned;
- Verified status will be revoked;
- The production house may be publicly delisted from the platform.
Production Houses are encouraged to ensure that all individuals with access to their company account are aware of and comply with this policy. If a Production House becomes aware of misconduct by their representatives on this platform, they should report it to us proactively.
8. Support Resources
If you have experienced harassment, you do not have to navigate this alone. The following resources are available:
- National Commission for Women (NCW): 7827170170 | ncw.nic.in
- iCall (Psychological Support): 9152987821 | icallhelpline.org
- National Cybercrime Reporting Portal: 1930 | cybercrime.gov.in
- Women's Helpline (All India): 181
- Emergency Services: 112
- iDiva / Laadli (for film industry-specific support): Contact via respective websites
We also encourage anyone who has experienced harassment in the film industry to connect with FICCSI (Film Industry for Child Safety in India) and the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) where relevant.
9. False Complaints
Filing a knowingly false harassment complaint is itself a violation of our Terms of Service and this policy. We treat malicious false complaints seriously. However, we recognise that even well-intentioned complaints may involve disputed facts, and an unsubstantiated complaint — one where we could not find sufficient evidence — is not the same as a false complaint. Good-faith reporters who cannot prove their claim are not penalised.
10. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually and updated to reflect changes in law, platform features, and industry practices. Significant changes will be communicated to registered users. We welcome feedback on this policy at contact@aiocine.com.
A Final Note
The Indian film industry is one of the most creative, diverse, and dynamic in the world. It deserves hiring infrastructure that matches that ambition. Every person who comes to this platform — from a junior assistant director in Hyderabad to a veteran DoP in Mumbai — deserves to be treated with dignity. We will do our part to make that the norm, not the exception.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at contact@aiocine.com.
